About GENESEQ

GENESEQ is a global patent sequence database produced by Clarivate, containing DNA, RNA and protein sequences indexed from 56 worldwide patent-issuing authorities, including WIPO/PCT, USPTO, Europe (EPO), Japan (JPO), South Korea (KIPO), India (IP India) and China (CNIPA). The database has an archive which dates back to 1981, and each record contains standardized terminology and bibliographic data, enhanced titles, English language abstracts, and manually-captured sequence information. GENESEQ is updated once every two weeks. As of April 04, 2026 there are 219,239,384 sequence records in GENESEQ, and its companion database GENESEQ FASTAlert, captured from 685,967 Derwent World Patents Index® (DWPI℠) basic patent publications.
